Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and his Oklahoma City Thunder could become NBA champions by the end of the week.

Gilgeous-Alexander has been sensational during the Finals against the Indiana Pacers and has quite literally earned a place in league history.

According to StatMuse, Gilgeous-Alexander is now top-five all-time in points per game, steals per game, and stocks per game in the Finals.

This isn’t that surprising, because Gilgeous-Alexander has been on a tear since the start of the season.

He earned the MVP trophy, led the league in scoring, and also claimed Western Conference Finals MVP.

And now he is close to getting his first title while putting himself in the NBA history books.

During this Finals run, he has averaged 32.4 points, 4.6 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 2.4 steals, and 1.8 blocks.

Gilgeous-Alexander has been doing it all for his team and really does feel like their most valuable star.

However, he’s not alone.

In fact, he wasn’t the top scorer for the Thunder in Game 5.

That honor went to Jalen Williams, who had a career night with 40 points.

The Thunder love Gilgeous-Alexander and all that he does for them, but they aren’t winning just because of him.

They are a deep, talented, relentless team and produce on both ends of the court.

This season could not have gone much better for Gilgeous-Alexander, but the job isn’t done yet.

He wants to win the Finals and prove that his team has been the best all season, despite what some critics have said.

Becoming part of Finals history is great, but Gilgeous-Alexander demands more from himself and his squad.
